JobDescription
·Provides comprehensive engineering designservices for substation facilities, and ensures the facilities are constructedon schedule and within committed resource allocations.
·Provides leadership, training, and direction tofellow staff members.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
·Develops economical, technically feasible,reliable substation physical and control designs. (10%)
·Serves as an expert to provide engineeringsolutions to engineering problems. (10%)
·Provides accurate engineering designs andproducts. Directs an engineering team for engineering and drawing productions.(20%)
·Provides accurate cost estimates for use incompany budgeting procedures such as cash flow requirements are identified.(15%)
·Provides coordination and communication withother departments such that total project schedules and expenditures aremaintained in accordance with commitments. (10%)
·Provides input for development of detailedproject schedules and updates project management system to reflect the statusof projects assigned. (5%)
·Monitors project expenditures, and practicescost control such that project commitments are met. (5%)
·Ensures quality control on assigned projects byproviding construction support as needed, including coordination withconstruction forces and job site inspections. (5%)
·Assists and guides other departments in thesolution of non-standard or complex substation design problems. (5%)
·Assigns and reviews the work of other departmentstaff. (15%)
·Ensures all compliance aspects of position areknown and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, andregulations applicable to position and company.
·Performs related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequirements
·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school inengineering and 15 years industry experience as a practicing engineer andperforming highly technical work of a specialized nature.
·Specialized Knowledge and Skills
·Demonstrated knowledge of: Comprehensivetheoretical and practical knowledge in substation/control engineeringprinciples and knowledge of other phases of engineering.
·Economic analysis methods, budgeting procedures,and company policies, rules, and regulations.
·Utility engineering practices and procedures,construction methods and material specifications.
·Demonstrated skill such as: Directing,coordinating, and reviewing the work of a staff of engineers, technicians, anddesigners.
·Ability to prove judgment and solve unusualproblems with a high level of independent decision-making.

·PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and databasesoftware.
