Senior Project Engineer /Manager

Under regular supervision, thisposition performs engineering tasks and projects in the design, specification,and management of engineering and construction projects and the completion ofengineering reports for the engineering department. Responsibilities includeapplying prescribed methods and standard practices in performing specificengineering assignments and assisting engineering staff and others on morecomplex assignments.

Engineers will perform traditionaltasks including facility design, equipment and material specification, costestimating, alternative analysis, problem solving and performanceevaluation/improvement. Engineers will manage projects involving theconstruction of new facilities, replacement of obsolete facilities, alterationor repair of existing facilities, or the performance of complex operationalactivities, by managing all, or a portion of the project scope, schedule, andcost. Engineers serve in the capacity of a subject matter expert in thedevelopment and maintenance of specifications, standards and procedures.Engineers provide technical assistance to support the integrity and riskmanagement programs and the capital and expense budgeting process.

Duties

Provides technical support forcertain phases of a project including schedules, designs, estimates,

engineering specifications,policies and procedures, drawings, materials procurement, contracts, cost

tracking and project costprojections. Coordinates the development of goals and work plans, defines

responsibilities and assignsresources, then monitors work performance with respect to project and businessobjectives. Coordinates the work of internal/external resources to ensure thatquality and quantity of work are met.

Communicates with internal andexternal business partners to determine needs and measure satisfaction,understand current status, emphasize priorities, and obtain technical advice.

Conducts or contributes toengineering studies and investigations. Communicates results in verbal andwritten reports. Assists in the development, revision and implementation ofcompany standards and specifications, policies, and procedures.

Provides system optimizationrecommendations, general troubleshooting of existing facilities and feasibilitystudies to enhance the system.

Researches and analyzes data suchas customer design proposals, specifications, codes and regulations, and manualsto determine feasibility of design, fitness for service and/or appropriateapplication. Verifies that work products conform to applicable codes,standards, specifications, and requirements of internal/external businesspartners.

May participate in emergencyresponse during any pipeline emergency to provide technical expertise in area ofproficiency and ensure effective business resumption.

Provides engineering assistance toother departments and performs any additional tasks as requested or

assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree inengineering and six to eight years of experience as a practicing engineer inrelated engineering applications or other related industry experience. If no PElicense, must have 8 years as a practicing engineer.

The Sr. Engineer II requires abachelor’s degree engineering from an accredited institution. Eight or more yearsof experience as a practicing engineer in related engineering applications orother related industry experience. Requires PE. If no PE license, must have 10years as a practicing engineer.

Ability to prioritize and handlemultiple tasks and/or projects concurrently.

Familiarity with analyticalsoftware techniques and proficiency with desktop programs (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MicrosoftOutlook).

Valid driver's license and abilityto travel to remote locations, including out-of-area travel. After-hours work asneeded, and routine on-call rotations may also apply.
