Title: Senior EngineerII Substation Design

Job Description
·Provides comprehensive engineering design services for substationfacilities, and ensures the facilities are constructed on schedule and withincommitted resource allocations.Leadsfunctional teams and provides technical oversight in performing all phases ofprojects. Assists with internal training for engineers and technicians. Worksclosely with managers and principal engineers on higher-level projects, and inrecommending and implementing changes that benefit the company.
Primary Job Duties andResponsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
·Develops economical, technically feasible, reliable substationphysical and control designs with no supervision and guidance. Providestechnical management of multiple substation projects and prioritization ofwork, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and internalstakeholders.(25%)
·Ensures quality control on assigned projects by providingconstruction support as needed, including coordination with construction forcesand job site inspections.(25%)
·Provides coordination and communication with other departments incompleting procurement tasks on projects with no supervision or guidance. (15%)
·Assists and guides other departments in the solution ofnon-standard substation design problems. (15%)
·Provides accurate cost estimates for use in company budgetingprocedures such that cash flow requirements are identified. (10%)
·Provides input for development of detailed project schedules andupdate project management system to reflect the status of projects assigned.(10%)
·Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed;understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable toposition and company.
·Performs related duties as assigned.
PositionRequirements
·Bachelor’s degree from accredited school in electrical engineeringand 8 years industry experience as a practicing engineer and must be a licensedPE.If no PE license, must have 10 years as a practicing engineer.
·Specialized Knowledge and Skills
·Demonstrated knowledge of: Substation/control engineeringprincipals and knowledge of other phases of engineering.
·Areas of cost control, budgets, finance, and accounting withtechnical experiences in cost analysis
·Skills such as: Analytical, interpersonal and communication withcompany personnel, customers, and regulatory agencies.
·Multitasking, leadership, research, analysis, projectmanagement, problem-solving and decision-making.
·Equipment and Applications: PCs, word processing, spreadsheet anddatabase software.
·Work Environment and Physical Demands: General office environmentwith some field work for supervision.
