Job Description
- The Financial Counseling team helps remove the financial barriers to care, so families can stop worrying about the financial impact of treatment and instead focus wholly on their child's care.
- As navigators of insurance and reimbursement resources, Financial Counselors help uninsured or underinsured families apply for various government-sponsored healthcare resources, including MediCal and California Children's Services (CCS), as well as assist families with payment plans and other options to resolve patient account balances.
- Counselors work with departments across the house, including social work, case management, revenue cycle, and physician billing.
- The Financial Counselor works under the general supervision of the Lead Financial Counselor and Patient Access Manager.

- HS diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a Financial Counselor in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of MediCal and Insurance Authorizations
- Ability to multitask.
