Position Summary:

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway/heavy contractor looking for a GPS Technician to join our team

The Civil Technician/ Drone Pilot plays a vital role in our plant and operations processes. The position will work closely with the Material Manager, Safety Manager and Project Managers. This will be done through a variety of ways including creating/ verifying designs for use in the survey/grading equipment, droning and processing material stockpile at the plants as well as droning sites for safety purposes.

Job Duties & Requirements:

• Verify and convert plans to 3D models for use in GPS equipment.
• Prepare machine control files to be used by equipment for automated project creation.
• Perform site analysis to create the most economical design for the customer.
• Assist Project Managers with larger Takeoffs.
• Drone all asphalt plant locations for material reconciliation monthly.
• Assist Marketing with the use of drone photos.
• Work closely with GPS Technician and assist in the field when needed.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Civil Engineering or Civil Technician Degree, preferred.
• Part 107 certification preferred (will provide training to obtain)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD-based civil design software
• Two years of related experience
• Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word as well as intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
