Health Information Management Clerk opportunity in beautiful Hamilton, Montana!!
Bitterroot Health is seeking candidates to fill an Clerk position in our Health Information Management department. The HIM Clerk may perform a variety of duties depending on assignment. Candidate should have a general knowledge of the daily functions of the HIM Medical Records department. Duties may include: Collecting, reviewing and scanning medical records after discharge to ensure a complete record in compliance with hospital bylaws and state requirements, assuring the accuracy and timeliness of the chart utilizing a deficiency system, ensuring all chart requests are processed according to department standards, prepping charts for mid-level providers as requested for review, preparing and filing accurate and complete birth certificates or disability determinations according to department and state policies, and finally reviewing records and authorizations prior to the release of medical information in accordance with hospital policy, state law and HIPAA guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent required
• Licensures, Certifications, Registrations: RHIT preferred
• Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good oral and written communication skills, General knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office product suite preferred
• Experience: 2 years prior healthcare experience preferred

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
