Substitute Teacher Position
WHERE AS, BELN is a charitable, non-profit organization located in Hamilton, Montana with a mission that reads, "Empowering children and families within a secure, respectful, and celebratory learning environment, while strengthening our wider community.” This is a great position for individuals that are looking to get into the profession of Early Childhood Education, are in school for their degree, or simply love children and the outdoors and are willing to learn!
SCOPE OF WORK
Assist in class as needed at 201 S. 8th St Hamilton, MT location.
Adhere to curriculum and philosophy of program. On website for reference.
Accept and uphold the goal of the BELN Programs to be outdoors, dirty, active, outgoing, and parent/community involved.
Communicate and coordinate if something comes up for sheduled shift.
Assist the Teacher in classroom preparation and student activities.
Assist in cleaning and sanitization of toys and materials.
Focus on positive reinforcements of appropriate behaviors. A safe and positive learning environment will be provided for all of the students.
Undergo state-licensing training, up to date background check, account with MTECP, and versed in our procedures in place to deal with any emergency situation that may arise. (we will coach you)
Record hours worked each day on a time sheet prior to leaving school.
Interact professionally with the community on the many field trips the children will take.
Be able and willing to get dirty and active with the children, as the program consists of exploring our outdoors and community. (River, surrounding parks, splash pad, local hiking trails etc.)
Work Schedule
- 8-4 M-TH
- We will work with you on what hours and days you are able to work! For example, you are only able to work on mondays from 12-4. We will take any help from our community to support our teachers and provide a safe learning environment for children.

Trainee- $15.00
Substitute (level 1 )-$15.00
Assistant Educator (Level 1 )- $16.50
Lead Educator (Level 2 )- $18.50
Director (Level 6 )- $23.00
