We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced People Operations Generalist to join our People Operations team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring an outstanding employee experience. From managing compliance to overseeing benefits and engagement activities, this role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. The Generalist will have a deep sense of empathy and love of people, be a champion of Bitfocus culture and values and is well-steeped in the details and nuances of all things related to people operations.

Compensation:

We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications, and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted total compensation range of $60,000-$90,000, which includes variable compensation (bonus) eligibility.

  • Be a trusted thought partner to stakeholders at Bitfocus
  • Run the daily functions of the People Ops department for Bitfocus, resulting in a high engagement score from employees (CultureAmp)
  • Work closely with the Director of People Ops on initiatives such as compensation benchmarking, onboarding, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in people operations, talent management, and employment law
  • Constantly evaluate and assist with any project that will create an inclusive, fun, and high-performing work environment for all prospective and existing team members
  • Employees report positive feedback about the employee experience at Bitfocus.
As a People Operations Generalist, you will:
  • Run the Daily Functions of the People Ops Department and Manage all aspects of the Employee Lifecycle:
    • Successfully lead the onboarding process post-acceptance for new hires for payroll, benefits, and retirement as well as regularly evaluate the program and recommend improvements to ensure excellent new hire experience
    • Support all stages of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, and offboarding, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding People Operations inquiries and requests, providing exceptional customer service and support. Proactively identify and resolve issues, or escalate to the appropriate team member when necessary.
  • Manage HRIS & General People Ops Tech Stack:
    • Oversee our HRIS, Paylocity, managing employee profiles, leave, and benefits.
    • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure seamless integration between HR and payroll functions.
    • Maintain data integrity and process efficiency across our People Ops tech stack (Paylocity, Benefits platforms, Engagement tools, Confluence space, Box space, etc.).
  • Manage Employee Benefits:
    • Manage employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, compliance, and vendor management, ensuring access to top-tier benefits packages.
    • Lead annual open enrollment initiatives.
  • Maintain Employee Data Analytics & Reporting:
    • Utilize People Operations data analysis to extract insights and recommendations crucial for decision-making, including the examination of employee engagement survey data.
    • Develop and sustain data dashboards and reports to effectively communicate findings and drive actionable outcomes.
  • Maintain Process Improvement and Compliance:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within People Operations, implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including ADA, EEO, OSHA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations, updating policies as needed.
    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in people operations, talent management, and employment law
    • Establish and maintain accurate employee files in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Ensure that all records are kept up to date and organized.
    • Administer various types of employee leaves, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.
  • Oversee Employee Engagement Activities & Assist with Employee Relations:
    • Constantly evaluate and assist with any project that will create an inclusive, fun, and high-performing work environment for all prospective and existing team members
    • Lead engagement initiatives, independently and in partnership with the Culture & Engagement Committee, to foster a culture of belonging, connection, and enhanced cross-functional collaboration across the company.
    • Maintain and update various aspects of People Operations publications, newsletters, our People Ops Confluence space, and other regular communications. Regularly review and update content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
    • Assist the People Operations Director on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Additional Initiatives:
    • Assist with the design and execution of various People Operations initiatives as needed. This may include leading or participating in projects related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, performance management, or talent acquisition.
What you Bring:
  • Three(3) years of broad HR experience with increasing responsibilities; ideally working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Possess a proactive, solution-oriented, problem-solving mindset -- "I'll figure it out."
  • Experience using Paylocity (preferred) or similar HRIS as well as other HR related technologies.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of payroll processes, including tax deductions, benefits administration, 401k practices, and compliance.
  • Experience delivering quality customer service with warmth and professionalism (and you LOVE working with people!)
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and high level of accuracy - able to juggle many priorities at once with grace and a "can-do" attitude
  • Naturally creative, curious, and inspired to learn new things to bring innovative solutions to the table.
  • Strong blend of strategic thinking, creativity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for detail to drive impactful communication initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment, leave, and benefits laws and regulations in multiple states.
  • Experience creating or collaborating on the development of unique and exceptional onboarding programs.
  • Experience in researching, collecting, digesting, and visualizing data and information in meaningful ways.
  • Experience in project planning, involvement, or ownership of company events and engagement activities on a regular basis.
  • Possess a strong history of managing multiple projects and the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience in the development of policies, handbooks, and other people-related procedures.
  • Comfortable in Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, and other remote collaboration tools, along with the ability to quickly learn new tools
  • Experience operating in a fully remote or virtual setting utilizing a diverse range of software tools, coupled with a track record of fostering connections and promoting engagement within a dispersed workforce.
  • You are skilled in managing confidential information and maintaining data privacy and security.
  • Possess poise and tact when confronted with challenging situations
