Our SelectLeaders' client is a privately-held opportunistic real estate investment management firm based in New York City, that invests in real estate debt and equity; including commercial mortgage-backed securities, whole loans, B-Notes, mezzanine loans, real estate, and other joint-venture opportunities. Their investment strategy is focused on acquiring, investing in, & repositioning distressed real estate throughout the United States.

Through its debt and distress-related strategies, they have acquired over $2 billion in real estate assets. Their portfolio is comprised of debt & equity exposure to industrial, hospitality, multifamily, retail, and office assets.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking qualified individuals for an Analyst position to support their acquisitions team. Qualified candidates will have experience with commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), commercial real estate lending, and commercial real estate. Work experience with a high degree of proficiency in Excel & Bloomberg, the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally, and strong attention to detail are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the underwriting and due diligence for commercial real estate credit investments, with a focus on CMBS.
• Create, edit, & review complex financial models, utilizing Excel & Bloomberg.
• Help grow the commercial real estate credit investment team.
• Compile and analyze market research Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with prospective investments.

• 2 years of full-time experience with real estate credit (including CMBS).
• Experience working at a (a) master servicer, (b) special servicer, or (c) CMBS sales & trading desk is a plus, but not required.
• Strong quantitative and data-driven investment approach.
• Salary Range $115-150k base salary plus yearly bonus incentive.
