The Theater Technology Coordinator at Bishop Verot Catholic High School plays a crucial role in supporting the integration and effective use of technology in the educational environment, as well as overseeing all technical aspects of events hosted in the Anderson Theater including managing the theater's technical equipment, coordinating technical crews, and providing technical support to ensure the smooth operation of all events while maintaining safety standards and optimizing technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with event planners and Theater Manager during pre-production to plan technical aspects of events, including set design, lighting plots, sound cues, and special effects requirements.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise technical crew members, including lighting technicians, sound engineers, stagehands, and other personnel needed to support events.
- Coordinate and manage technical rehearsals, ensuring that lighting, sound, and other technical elements are executed according to the production's requirements and directorial vision.
- Set up and operate technical equipment during rehearsals, performances, and events, including programming lighting consoles, operating sound boards, and executing cues according to production timelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices for theatrical productions, including proper use of rigging equipment, handling of pyrotechnics, and implementation of emergency procedures.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in communications, technology, education, or related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues independently and efficiently
- Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize daily workload
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skillswith the ability to effectively train and support users of varying technical backgrounds and skill levels.
