OVERALL PURPOSE

This position provides comprehensive support to students that are in line with BMCHS mission, vision, core values, and Catholic culture.

This position is required to conduct business in a professional and cordial manner that will uphold the integrity and reputation of Bishop McCort Catholic High School (BMCHS). This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the policies, regulations, and procedures of BMCHS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)

1. Develop schemes of work and weekly lesson plans.

2. Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.

3. Establish and communicate clear objectives for learning activities.

4. Assign and grade all classwork, homework, tests and assignments.

5. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.

6. Manage student behavior in classroom by establishing and enforcing the rules.

7. Communicate necessary information to students, parents, colleagues, and administration.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Participate in In-Services and trainings as required.

· Participate in extra-curricular activities (as a moderator).

· Use relevant technology to support instruction.

· Order and prioritize need for classroom supplies upon hire and at the end of each school year.

· Maintain a clean and orderly classroom.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

· Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred

· 0 to 2 years’ related experience required

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

· Pennsylvania Teacher Certification preferred

· Required child abuse and criminal history clearances
