Reports to: Lab Manager
SummaryThis position will involve assisting in the day-to-day activities within the Lab Department, preparing certification documents, maintaining certs and test reports, maintaining calibration status on all instruments, having the ability to work independently or in a team environment, critical thinking and using good judgment in decision-making. The position will also aid in the in-process inspection process and final inspection process as needed.
Essential Functions/Duties
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Education And Experience
Pre-employment testing (including background**, drug screening and agility testing) will be required post offer.

The position will also aid in the in-process inspection process and final inspection process as needed.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Must be familiar with ISO 17025
- Tensile, CVN, Hardness, De-carb, and Grain testing
- Maintain all documents that make up a full certification package (mill test reports, heat treat certs, coating certs, test reports, etc.)
- Provide completed certification packages to Shipping Department and/or email to intended customer recipient prior to shipment of products
- Organize and maintain all quality related records as needed
- Work with vendor representatives to gather ensure efficient consolidation of all documents necessary to complete certification packages
- Maintain calibration status on all instruments and equipment used for production and for testing purposes
- Schedule calibration services as needed
- Perform random inspections in manufacturing departments to ensure product quality standards are met
- Perform dock inspections to ensure orders are correct prior to shipment
- Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work effectively with or without direct supervision as well as independently or in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education And Experience
- Metallurgical Testing and Quality Experience will be given precedence.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
- Level 2 Tech is a plus.
Pre-employment testing (including background**, drug screening and agility testing) will be required post offer.
