If you think you have what it takes to join our fast paced, high stakes Fastener family, please take a look at the brief job descriptions below...Lab TechClassification: Hourly Reports to: Lab Manager SummaryThis position will involve assisting in the day-to-day activities within the Lab Department, preparing certification documents, maintaining certs and test reports, maintaining calibration status on all instruments, having the ability to work independently or in a team environment, critical thinking and using good judgment in decision-making. The position will also aid in the in-process inspection process and final inspection process as needed. Essential Functions/Duties
Must be familiar with ISO 17025
Tensile, CVN, Hardness, De-carb, and Grain testing
Maintain all documents that make up a full certification package (mill test reports, heat treat certs, coating certs, test reports, etc.)
Provide completed certification packages to Shipping Department and/or email to intended customer recipient prior to shipment of products
Organize and maintain all quality related records as needed
Work with vendor representatives to gather ensure efficient consolidation of all documents necessary to complete certification packages
Maintain calibration status on all instruments and equipment used for production and for testing purposes
Schedule calibration services as needed
Perform random inspections in manufacturing departments to ensure product quality standards are met
Perform dock inspections to ensure orders are correct prior to shipment
Competencies
Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work effectively with or without direct supervision as well as independently or in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical/Cognitive DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role; however, walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility is required. Position also requires the ability to lift boxes, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Education And Experience
Metallurgical Testing and Quality Experience will be given precedence.
2-3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
Level 2 Tech is a plus.
