We have an immediate opportunity for a part-time driver in our Frederick, MD location!

BioTrans LLC is a global logistics provider specializing in cold chain transportation, technology and infrastructure for the life sciences industry.

Shift:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with possible Friday shifts. Early morning variable start times as early as 3:00 am. Local and out of state driving. Possible overnight (company paid hotel).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate, load, unload and deliver freight utilizing a small box truck or cargo van.
• Adhere to assigned routes and follow time sensitive schedules that require detailed attention.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety.
• Comply with DOT regulations.
• Familiar with E Logs and DOT regulations or willing to learn to use E Logs.
• Ability to navigate surrounding areas using GPS and comfortable with scanning devices..
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; fuel the truck as needed; evaluate and report issues through the appropriate parties (dispatch/ managers).
• Clean, wash and sanitize assigned vehicles.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and fumes or airborne particles. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting.
• Extended periods of sitting.
• Sequential or simultaneous use of hands, arms, feet and legs.
• Eye hand coordination.
• Close Vision (clear vision at 20” or less).
• Distance Vision (Clear vision at 20’ or more).
• Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
• Depth Perception (ability to judge distance spatial relationships).
• Hearing.

Minimum Requirements and Employee Expectations:

• Must be 21 years of Age
• Valid driver's license
• Acceptable driving record (2 or fewer moving violations in the past 3 years and no DWI/DUI in the past 5 years for insurance purposes).
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
• Ability to use smartphones and willingness to learn our company’s workflow-related applications
• Basic computer, tablet and/or smartphone skills and GPS and other routing systems
• Experience driving 24 - 26ft box trucks.
• Be a quick learner, detail-oriented, dependable, have a positive attitude
• Communication proficiency - Able to follow verbal and written directions
• Must NOT be restrictive for access on military bases
