Job Title: Production Supervisor - Night Shift
Location: Norfolk, Nebraska
Salary: $70-85K plus bonus
Job Summary:
The Night Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the facility to support overall business objectives. This includes managing all aspects of daily production, ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining sanitation, and assisting the EHS manager in implementing safety programs and policies. The Production Supervisors will report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing key manufacturing plans and programs to achieve budgeted unit cost and output objectives.
- Coordinating activities of all manufacturing functional areas to align with plant goals and priorities.
- Creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.
- Ensuring production capacity meets sales volume requirements and developing contingency plans when needed.
- Developing and monitoring the annual operating budget.
- Maintaining and improving the quality of plant assets.
- Enhancing technical and manufacturing management skills within the plant.
- Establishing performance standards for supervisors and maintaining current job descriptions and improvement plans.
- Setting appropriate scheduling and employee work schedules based on customer orders and plant performance.
- Collaborating with Purchasing to establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials and monitoring compliance.
- Partnering with Quality/R&D to develop and improve products/processes, conducting experimental and test runs.
- Managing inventory of off-spec materials and overseeing the reworking of products as needed.
- Maintaining formulation data system by entering new product formulations.
Education & Experience:
- 5-7 years of previous management experience in a food grade operation.
- Background in dairy, evaporators, and/or drying technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of plant operation procedures and business system software applications.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to work a night shift schedule of 6pm-6am on a 2-2-3 schedule.
