We are looking for a remote Technical Writer based in the US to join Biosero’s Project Management Office (PMO). This role is an opportunity to work with an extremely talented, fun, and passionate team to deliver laboratory automation solutions. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating clear and concise documentation that enables users to understand and operate complex laboratory automation systems effectively. Your work will contribute to the success of cutting-edge research and scientific advancements. The Technical Writer works closely with the PMO, Engineering, and Applications teams to develop technical documentation focused on active customer projects in accordance with established schedules. They must love working in an fast-paced environment, have an eye for details, and possess superior problem-solving skills. REMOTE ROLE
1. Document Creation:
- Write and edit user manuals, technical guides, and other documentation related to laboratory automation systems in alignment with project delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and applications scientists to gather information and ensure accuracy.
2. Content Development:
- Research and understand laboratory automation technologies, workflows, and best practices.
- Translate technical concepts into user-friendly content suitable for diverse audiences, including laboratory technicians, researchers, and automation engineers.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Review and proofread documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
- Verify that all instructions, diagrams, and illustrations accurately represent the automation processes.
4. Process Improvement:
- Continuously improve existing documentation based on user feedback, system updates, and industry advancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance usability and accessibility.
5. Training Materials:
- Develop training materials, including presentations and e-learning modules, to educate users on laboratory automation systems.
6. Compliance and Regulatory Support:
- Ensure that all documentation complies with relevant industry standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Communication, Life Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Science).
- Certification in technical writing (e.g. Medical Writer Certified (MWC) or Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC)) is preferred
Experience:
- Two or more (2 ) years of proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the laboratory automation domain.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, robotics, and software used in automated workflows is preferred
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO 9001) is preferred
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize complex information logically.
- Understanding of scientific terminology and laboratory processes.
Collaboration:
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and project managers.
Salary range is $62,000 - $72,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include 401K with company match, Flexible Vacation Policy, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
