DescriptionThe engineering co-op student will be supervised and mentored by the Director, Managers and Sr. Engineer’s in the engineering team of Systems Development. Interaction with Project Leaders and other engineers will occur on a daily basis as needed in the co-op period.
Basic Knowledge: The co-op will obtain basic knowledge related to medical instrumentation research, development, design and testing. Candidates will be expected to have general Engineering knowledge including the use of standard engineering tools and test equipment and to have general computer applications competencies (word processing, spreadsheet, internet data search, software programming, etc.)
Project Activities: This position will include creation and execution of verification tests, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and evaluating instrument and system issues and design alternatives.
Design and Development Process: The co-op will be given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of the bioMerieux Design Control Process that addresses US and international regulatory requirements, as well as internal Quality Assurance.
Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Systems and Biomedical Engineering undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will be considered.
