Position Summary: 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive support, management, and optimization for Facilities projects and repairs. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing in-house electrical installations, repairs, and facilities projects with the aim of minimizing external vendor service costs. Additionally, the role involves offering administrative support to the Facilities department during both the planning and inventory phases

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management Support: Provide project management support as needed, ensuring the successful execution of facility-related projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot advanced mechanical and electrical problems on various facility equipment. Utilize problem-solving tools to identify the root cause of repetitive breakdowns or losses. Effectively address key issues and share insights with peers, contributing to a proactive problem-solving culture.
  • Facility Equipment Maintenance: Execute Preventative, Corrective, Predictive, and Breakdown work orders on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, chillers, steam and hot water boilers, fire systems, and other facility equipment. Perform patching, painting, and carpentry work as needed to maintain optimal facility functionality.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain organized files for department equipment, service suppliers, and contractors. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible, facilitating efficient tracking of maintenance activities and vendor engagements.
  • Facility Department Administration: Provide administrative support to the facility department, assisting in coordination, scheduling, and documentation. Contribute to the smooth operation of administrative processes to enhance overall departmental efficiency.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee contractor management activities, including vetting, onboarding, and ongoing collaboration. Ensure contractors adhere to safety protocols and project timelines, maintaining high standards of work quality.
  • Training and Mentorship: Demonstrate the ability to train and mentor less experienced personnel within the facility team. Share knowledge and best practices to foster skill development and enhance the overall competency of team members.

Education, Skills, & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the electrical field and project management backgrounds required
    • Trade Certification required (State Electrical License) 
    • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility and related experience working in an industrial setting.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience project management preferred.
    • Strong background in reading ladder logic, troubleshooting and repairing PLC(s), electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems preferred.
