A worldwide provider of biological and in vitro products to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies is currently seeking a Head of M&A Integrations to join their growing organization. Our organization specializes in control and disease state matrices which are used in drug discovery, compound development, clinical and research diagnostics enabling biomedical researchers to better understand the pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism of newly discovered compounds and the effects on disease processes.

Reporting to the VP of Operational Excellence, the Director of Integrations and Project Management is responsible for the leadership, execution and successful delivery of the integration activities and leads the Project Management Office driving projects across the enterprise. The Director Integrations and Project Management Office, working closely with key functional leaders will manage the overall portfolio of company projects to support the project goals of the company and for integrations facilitating meeting the first year financial goals. This role will require intermittent presence onsite projects as well as understand how the business operates to determine where there are opportunities for growth/improvements. Using their business acumen, they will build these opportunities into detailed project plans they will execute with the business team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This role will oversee the work of an integration team through dotted-line reporting relationships. Team members represent Finance, IT, HR, and Product Management.
  • Oversee Project Managers and provide leadership and guidance on delivering excellence.
  • Provide leadership and program management for successfully integrating all acquisitions, delivering on integration objectives.
  • Partner closely with senior executives and functional leaders to architect integration strategies that are aligned with our operating model; drive timely and objective decision-making with sound advice and good judgment.
  • Participate actively in the diligence of target acquisitions, leading the evaluation of key issues, assessment of integration challenges, and development of post-close plans.
  • Ensure senior leadership is aware of critical issues/risks and drive them to resolution with constant and consistent objectivity.
  • Build/Lead and inspire a flexible integration team that works closely with leaders to successfully plan and execute on project milestones.
  • Ensure and manage effective communications to all stakeholders.
  • Manage integrations by serving as the principal day-to-day point of contact for all things related to integration and establishing the overall process design, mechanics, and protocols to be followed by all participants.
  • Understands Resource Capacity Management and works with Managers to resource activities.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business, engineering, or related field
  • Life science/healthcare with 5 years direct people management
  • 10 years of professional experience, preferably in life science/healthcare
  • 5 years of professional experience in project management
  • 3 years of direct experience managing merger integrations
  • PMP or similar project management certification preferred

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen
  • Change agent for business agility and continuous improvement of M&A integration processes
  • Skilled in developing professional relationships with leadership, subordinates, and peers
  • Skilled in developing detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project or other similar software
  • Compelling executive presentation skills and general communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and create improved workflows
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with ERPs and Laboratory Information Systems a plus
  • Up to 30-40% travel
