BIOFerm is Hiring a Materials Associate Near Madison, WI

BIOFerm, a renewable energy company, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Materials Associate to join our team at a construction site located in Lynchburg, TN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and management of inventory, ensuring seamless operations and optimal project execution. This will be a part-time position, with fewer than 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials, ensuring compliance with accuracy and quality standards.
  • Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
  • Identify and address any issues related to the quality of received goods promptly.
  • Regularly conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory records with physical counts.
  • Collaborate with procurement team and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain an organized and efficient storage system for all materials.
  • Implement best practices for the storage of different types of materials, considering safety and accessibility.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and supplies at the construction site and report to procurement and project execution teams.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth coordination of materials for project.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and enforce procedures to guarantee the safe handling and storage of materials.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing materials or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and materials is a plus.
  • Comfortable using various software, including Office Suite, Procore, ERP, etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Licensed forklift driver.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in outside jobsite conditions.
  • Valid US driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work for any company in the United States. Must not require sponsorship, or continued sponsorship to work for any company in the United States
