Bingham Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Physician Services Clinic Lead Near Idaho Falls, ID

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience: Previous clinical experience in a physician's office preferred but not required.

Required Licenses / Certifications: CPR or BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: The Front Office Clerks have the responsibility for following policy in the overall operation of the clinic's front office. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and non-verbal. Needs exceptional organization with the ability to multitask. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides reception services with excellent customer relations including, answering phones, scheduling, data entry, cash collection, filing, tracking data, and other clerical functions in the physician’s office setting. Supports care coordination, quality improvement, team huddles, and other duties that help foster the Patient Centered Medical Home model. Trains and supports all front office staff in assigned area. Assists managers in supervision of front staff.

When a patient enters the clinic, the Front Office staff smiles and welcomes every patient. Answering the telephone in a professional and caring manner at all times. Greeting all visitors, patients, and families in a courteous and a professional manner. Registering patients as part of the check in process and documents per protocol and or policy. Obtains accurate and necessary information required per policy and clinic protocol for every patient. Runs insurance eligibility verification on every patient. Obtains necessary referrals prior to patient visit. Collects any copay or payment required with accurate documentation and maintains the cash drawer. Reports on all daily stats for each provider and or clinic they work. Preparation of clinic paperwork per provider protocol and BMH policy. Ensures all phones calls and messages are sent to the back office staff and/or providers on Practice Partner. Receiving/collecting all office mail and distribute to appropriate personnel. Scheduling all patient appointments including making reminder calls to remind them of their appointments. Scanning all clinic documents and indexing patient intake, eligibility and consents in EMR as instructed. Thank every patient for visiting the clinic upon discharge. Participates in daily clinic team huddles with the other front and back office staff members to foster better communication and prepare for better patient care and patient experiences. Supports quality improvement activities by taking an active role in selecting quality improvement goals, developing plans on how to improve, carrying out the improvement plans, and reviewing the outcomes to assess how to move forward. Must be available at all times during clinic hours, unless pre-approved by clinic manager. Processes audits for front staff in assigned area. Trains new staff, as well as follow-up training with existing staff. This includes helping new staff feel integrated into the clinic, with providers and staff. May be called upon to assist managers with disciplinary action meetings. Assists managers in supervision of front staff. Ensures front office staff properly complete processing of daily deposits, cash handling, and needed documents get to accounting department daily from each office. Helps ensure cash boxes are in balance in each clinic. Helps with daily stats, including ensuring offices are doing these daily, accurately and timely. Assists with 10 Minute Team Meetings. This includes assisting managers with support and morale of team during meetings, as well as leading the meetings when called upon by the manager. Other duties as assigned by provider, back office staff, and or clinic manager. Must be available to cover all clinics as instructed by Manager. Travel to other BMH clinics will be necessary.
