Job Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator Level 3, you will play a vital role in our construction operations. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of projects. Your expertise will contribute to the completion of projects on schedule while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

- Operate heavy equipment with precision and control to perform tasks such as digging trenches, excavating and backfilling, loading and unloading materials, grading and leveling terrain, and compacting surfaces.

- Safely maneuver and operate heavy equipment in tight spaces, around obstacles, and in proximity to existing structures.

- Use equipment attachments and specialized tools effectively to accomplish specific tasks, such as buckets, blades, hydraulic hammers, compacting wheels, and rippers.

- Demonstrate advanced skills in fine grading and finishing work, ensuring a smooth and level surface according to project requirements.

- Carry out slope work, including the creation and maintenance of berms, ditches, and embankments with precision and accuracy.

- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to interpret design plans, grade stakes, and markers, ensuring accurate execution of project specifications.

- Perform routine inspections of heavy equipment, including checking fluid levels, hydraulic systems, electrical connections, and overall machine condition.

- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs on-site, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and daily logs, providing necessary documentation for project reports and billing purposes.

- Continuously improve skills and knowledge of new equipment models, advanced techniques, and emerging technologies related to heavy equipment operation.

- Emphasize safety throughout all operations, conducting pre-start inspections, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to established safety protocols at all times.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator

- Proficient in operating various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and compactors.

- Solid understanding of construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.

- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy equipment operation.

- Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks.

- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.

Schedule:

  • 8 - 10 hour shift not including lunch Monday - Friday

Job Type & Pay:

  • Full-time position
  • $28 - $30 per hour depending on experience
