In 2023, BillionToOne launched two liquid biopsy products that will markedly improve oncology treatment and care. With Northstar Select™, clinicians will be able to select cancer therapies that will be most effective to each patient based on their individual genetic makeup. Northstar Response™ will enable clinicians to monitor a patient’s early response to these cancer therapies, by measuring minute changes in their ctDNA, which can reduce ineffective treatments and unwanted toxicity, lower costs, and substantially improve clinical outcomes.

We are looking for a Revenue Cycle Associate to submit claims to various regional and national payers, including Federal, State, Third Party (HMO, PPO, IPA, TPA Indemnity), and ensure successful and timely reimbursement. Qualified candidates must be able to: (1) Review accounts for billing accuracy in order to maximize reimbursement. (2) Be persuasive and tenacious when following-up on rejected claims (3) Have extensive knowledge of prior authorizations and payor-specific rules. Must possess detailed knowledge of all medical benefit levels and have a thorough understanding of Federal, State, PPO, HMO, and Indemnity Plan structures.

Responsibilities:

• Working errors and correcting insurance assignment to accounts, insurance eligibility verification.
• Review/update patient demographics and information for accuracy in billing claims.
• Management of clean claim auditing, resolving pre-billing errors.
• Processing, validation of payer requests and processed claims via correspondence, remittance advice and EOBs (i.e., identification of payment discrepancies, inappropriate requests, claim routing issues)
• Investigate claim status rejections and/or front end denials to determine the reason for the denial, root causes associated with denials, including final resolution.
• Maximize utilization of Billing (Xifin) system, tools, and resources to optimize payment from third party payors. Work with XIFIN vendor to resolve EDI problems.
• Review and work various reports including error details and/or authorization status.
• Comply with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all billing related matters.
• Support and maintain department and company collection goals.

Qualifications:

• HS Degree minimum of 4 years of direct medical billing/claim submission experience at a diagnostics company, lab or medical device company required; College Degree preferred
• Extensive knowledge of prior authorizations and payor-specific rules. May work with payors and external vendors on authorization status, missing information and denial trends.
• Working knowledge of appropriate coding systems; CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS, coverage policies; LCD/NCD and reimbursement associated with such codes
• Working knowledge of HIPAA EDI transaction standards, including 835, 837, 276/277. Experience working with payors to improve electronic capabilities.
• Experience navigating insurance websites and portals.
• Problem solving skills, good judgment, attention to detail and follow-through are a must
• Excellent customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Experience resolving complex billing issues.
• Self-starter, ability to work independently in a remote work environment, ability to self-motivate to overachieve goals.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, performing and consistently meet deadlines.
• Establish and maintain cohesive and collaborative working relationships
• Ability to Identify trends and recommend solutions, resolving issues and improving collections
• XIFIN experience a plus
