The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic mammography procedures, transporting patients and providing clinical clerical support.

This position may be eligible for relocation and tuition loan repayment.

Essential Job Functions

•Supports and models behaviors consistent with themission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service.
•Maintains equipment by reporting malfunctions andassists in departmental supply acquisition. Mammography procedureresponsibilities include operating mammography equipment.
•Performs quality mammography services at the request ofphysicians, according to guidelines established by the American Cancer Society,American College of Radiology, HCFA, OSHA and FDA.
•Prepares the mammography suite for the patient byassuring cleanliness and acceptability of appropriate areas and setting up theequipment for special cases. Positions the patient and thoroughly explains theprocedure as well as alleviating apprehension and promoting cooperation as muchas possible.
•Informs management or Lead Mammography Technologist ofany unusual concerns, situation or conditions relative to staff, patients andphysicians.
•Maintains adequate inventory of all required supplies byinforming appropriate personnel for acquisition.
•Assures that the mammography program is in compliancewith regulating agencies by completing appropriate clerical work needed toperform the exams.
•May assist with performing quality control tests formammography equipment according to established guidelines by the AmericanCollege of Radiology and FDA.
•Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth anddevelopment; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
•Maintains competency in all organizational, departmentaland outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevantto job performance.
•Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet theneeds of the department/organization.
