Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for department cost centers to formalize and implement the mission, vision, and values of Billings Clinic. Maintains the standards, customer relations, and practice in a designated service line. Accountabilities include: quality of services; short and long range planning to achieve goals and objectives; fiscal control; physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations; personnel management. Manager oversees the departments of Gynecologic Oncology and the Infusion Center. Gynecologic Oncology is a medical and surgical team with outreach to various sites throughout the state of MT that require frequent in-person and virtual meetings to ensure quality, safety, and patient experience expectations are met as well as reviewing data to determine ongoing needs for clinic and OR services. Infusion services in the Cancer Center receives orders from approximately 90 different providers and coordinates/delivers infusions to both oncology and none oncology patients for our region. In addition, our Infusion Center has an apheresis program and autologous stem cell program that the manager oversees and is the only infusion center doing these procedures in our state/region. The manager of these departments is required to work collaboratively with a physician dyad partner as well as with the Director and Medical Director of the Cancer Center for strategic planning, department goal setting and outreach growth/strategy. The manager works with the director to develop gynecologic oncology and infusion services to Billings Clinic affiliates and fully-owned facilities as requested. The manager is required to attend all mandatory accreditation meetings per standards for said accreditations.

Essential Job Functions

  • In collaboration with physician dyad partner and director dyad, administration, and other health care providers, develops and implements short and long range plans, and leads, develops and revises programs which enhance department services.
  • Works with dyad partner and director dyad in the overall marketing, program development, and service priorities. Coordinates with physicians and other Billings Clinic leadership to assure continuity in pursing service line/organizational goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.
  • Officially reviews productivity standard for physicians and nursing teams annually and makes recommendations for changes to director and VP as needed.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a realistic, cost-effective annual budget.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving skills and participates in a minimum of one Lean Six Sigma project for departments each year.
• Practices process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of the service/care provided within the department. • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance for department and ensures compliance of department and staff.
• Develops, retains, recruits, and leads a talented team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Billings Clinic. • Recommends, implements, and evaluates plans and systems that assure sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.
  • Demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open communication and teamwork throughout the organization. Builds an environment of shared commitment to Billings Clinic’s goals and responsibility to achieve quality outcomes. Provides consultation for related concerns and acts as a customer advocate by demonstrating sensitivity to ethical and legal ramifications of practice.
  • Participates in evaluation, selection and integration of health care technology and information management systems that support quality of care/financial needs and the efficient use of resources.
  • Has knowledge of Billings Clinic Cancer Center accreditations standards as well as DNV accreditation standards and holds teams to these standards.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with various Billings Clinic departments and outreach sites.
  • Creates and revises practice guidelines, policies, and procedures for the Infusion Center and Gynecologic Oncology as required and/or needed.
  • Models Billings Clinic Cancer Centers Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Works in collaboration with physician dyad partner on physician schedules, nursing schedules, outreach schedules and outreach growth
  • Visits with outreach sites either virtually, or in person, at least quarterly to assess if mutual needs are being met
  • Annual review of physician compensation model and unit productivity standards
  • Finalizes department Safety Nets within 7 days of receiving
  • Reviews and makes recommendation for continuation, as is or with edits, of all Gynecologic Oncology outreach contracts
  • Completes annual Scope of Service documents required by DNV prior to annual deadline
  • Completes departments quarterly safety inspections on time
  • Responsible for all Gynecologic Oncology and Infusion Center quality, safety and patient experience data including, but not limited to, phone/message queues, message center queues, timely access for patients, Lean Six Sigma control plans, etc.
  • Writes stories each year for the Cancer Center Annual Report
  • Participates in Cancer Center volunteer activities such as Relay for Life, Survivor's BBZ and patient housing fundraisers

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • 4 Year Bachelor Degree

Experience

  • 2 Years experience in service area

Certifications and Licenses

  • ONS within 2 years of hire
  • RN, BSN at hire

Other Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated management/leadership and program management skills related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Current licensure/certification in the State of Montana and/or Wyoming as appropriate or required for service line
  • CPR certification as appropriate for department and/or service area
  • Current Montana/Wyoming drivers license and the ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles
  • OCN certification
