Job Description:

• Manage a proper inflow of services and supplies to allow for efficient and effective operation of the Quinnesec Mill.
• Practice consistent application of purchasing and company policies and procedures.
• Participate in both internal and external audit requirements.
• Be an active part of the on-call purchasing rotation for the mill.
• Assist other purchasing members in mill specific procurement tasks.
• Consult with production, engineering and maintenance resources to determine correct specifications for items to be purchased.
• Negotiate pricing, terms of payment, warranties, delivery requirements and other related purchase details.
• Work with Corporate Purchasing on specifications and mill requirements to optimize the value derived from the materials and services purchased through corporate purchasing agreements and processes.
• Develop knowledge of commodities used by the mill, as well as supply sources for the various commodities.
• Coordinate shipment of purchases to ensure most effective use of freight and follow up as necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
• Assist with any parts transfers between facilities when requested.
• Provide input to the corporate purchasing group on vendor base changes, vendor performance, etc.
• Maintain master data for MRO SAP Materials and ensure items are catalogued correctly and timely in SAP.
• Support and monitor corporate master data changes.

Requirements:

Musts:

• A two-year degree in materials management or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team towards a common goal.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer Experience: PC and related software, i.e. Excel, Word, Windows, etc.

• Industrial purchasing and/or inventory management experience desired.
• Knowledgeable in use of SAP Purchasing System.

Minimum Required Experience & Education:

• Associate's Degree in a related field
• 2 years’ work experience in similar field

Preferred Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Industrial purchasing and/or inventory management experience desired
• SAP purchasing system and processes.
