Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role This opportunity provides a unique and challenging role that is responsible for Accounting Systems Integration and reporting. Position is remote only. Will be joining an existing team of 11. Key responsibilities will include: building data requirements to enable the expansion and efficiency of accounting operations, supporting the preparation of financial reporting, as well as the execution of assigned projects across PayPal’s International Merchant and Consumer credit programs. You will engage with the PayPal credit team members such as product owners, developers, project managers, accountants, to drive accounting system builds to accomplish the needs of the business. You will expand your knowledge by cross training with the Credit Controllership team so you can appropriately support credit accounting operations. Job Description: Your way to impact Your work will directly impact the accuracy and efficiency of how PayPal reports its financials to investors. You will be supporting the accounting team by ensuring that accounting initiatives are built correctly and on time. Your day to day You will lead special projects within the Credit Accounting team by partnering with all impacted business functions within PayPal’s matrix structure such as: Finance, Data Analytics, System Platform teams, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, etc. Special projects may include: new product launches, accounting system configuration changes, expansion of existing programs to new geographic locations, process improvements, , etc. You will identify Accounting operations and reporting initiatives and translate them into Accounting T accounts and technical requirements for development. You will be presenting requirements to development teams while maintaining quality assurance during all stages of the build. This will include planning and testing to ensure accuracy and completeness. Integrating new data structures into existing accounting processes while maintaining process control is also part of the role. Your work environment will be fast paced that requires the juggling of multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines. You will work in a highly automated accounting environment with unique loan servicing platforms, as well as other systems, utilized across product portfolios. Process streamlining is an ongoing effort and system consolidation will be a key initiative for 2023 and beyond. Managers will need to call on you as needed to assist in the oversight of day-to-day team operations, execute the month end close process and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. You will be making recommendations for process improvement and scalability so the ability to analyze and walkthrough new or existing accounting processes from beginning to end, document and outline journal entries will be essential. What do you need to bring Must have the drive and ability to solve problems in a complex information technology environment. Quick learner with a high degree of attention to detail and understanding of business/accounting processes. Must have strong organizational, communication and prioritization skills, a high degree of personal integrity and professional skepticism. Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other advanced functions. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Technology Experience in an I.T or Analytics role while directly supporting the data needs of stake holders such as Accounting, Treasury and Finance.
