**Bicycle Fleet Assembler & Mechanic**

Full-Time in Newark, CA Bikes Make Life Better, Inc. manages a large bike fleet at a leading tech company in Menlo Park and were adding to our team. We run on-campus bike services for this clients employees (not for the public), including shops, mobile bike repair, and a large campus bike fleet.

Were looking for a production assembly and repair member to join our team in Newark, CA. You will work with others who have a passion for bicycles and a commitment to assembling and repairing hundreds of custom fleet bikes for use for intra-campus travel.

Bike maintenance experience is not required for this position although it helps. There are opportunities to gain professional mechanic experience to move into our campus bike shops to work on the personal bikes of employees of our client. If you have a passion for bicycles and are a fast learner who likes to work with your hands, this job may be for you!

**Overall Duties and Responsibilities** may include the following (other duties may be assigned):

* Assemble bikes quickly and accurately at your station based on company standard procedures

* Prepare frames by adding appropriate bolts and applying additional protection

* Collaborate with your production team on assembly floor coverage and cross-training

* Perform final quality control check of assembled bikes

* Install and maintain GPS lock and accessories

* Repair campus bikes

* Prepare packaging cardboard for recycling including folding, cutting and moving

* Assist other departments as necessary

* Rebalance bikes in the field on campus as needed

**Competencies & Requirements:**

* Experience in a fast-paced and technical role, assembly role preferred

* Ability to stand, lift, twist, and reach 100% of the time while working

* Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds

* High attention to detail and accuracy

* Punctual with a stellar attendance record

* Comfortable working in repetitive roles

* Experience using a drill or other hand tools

* Experience with bike maintenance is not required but knowledge of basic bike part names helps in this role

* High School Diploma or equivalent required

* Valid drivers license and good driving record

**Compensation:**

* Starting at $22/hour (weekdays only)
