Welcome to Big Thicket Veterinary Clinic in Cleveland Texas! We are a well established and highly respected Veterinary Practice in Liberty County Texas ( greater Houston area) and we are seeking a mixed animal veterinarian for our growing hospital. We have been in business for almost 40 years! We will assist with sign-on/relocation for the right candidate! The forests around Cleveland, including Sam Houston National Forest (located just to its north) are a resort for many inhabitants of the Houston area, who come to camp, hike, hunt and fish. Cleveland has several historic sites and public recreational facilities, including three parks and the new municipal park with baseball fields. The Austin Memorial Library Center offers a wide range of services to the community. The Texan Theater, Dairy Days annual livestock show and rodeo, Cleveland Community Chorus concerts, July 4 celebration, Halloween Treat Street and Hometown Christmas provide entertainment and celebratory activities to the surrounding area.

Companion animals, horses, livestock and other hooved stock compose the majority of patients seen at our veterinary practice. Clinical services offered are examinations, vaccinations, health screens and in house laboratory testing. Routine & advanced surgical procedures as well as extensive dentistry and certain orthopedic repairs are performed daily.

Responsibilities / Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Texas, or ability to become licensed in Texas ( we will reimburse for licensing)
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members.
  • Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
  • Compassionate team player who can uphold our outstanding reputation.
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
