Big Sandy Lodge & Resort is Hiring a Laundry Attendant Near Mc Gregor, MN
The position of Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel, coordinating the efforts in the laundry department, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing customer service to both external and internal customers.
- Start washers, dry cleaners, driers, or extractors, and turn valves or levers to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives.
- Sort and count articles removed from dryers, and fold, wrap, or hang them.
- Examine and sort into lots articles to be cleaned, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required.
- Load articles into washers or dry-cleaning machines.
- Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals to clean, color, dry, or stiffen articles.
- Clean machine filters and lubricate equipment.
- Remove items from washers or dry-cleaning machines.
- Operate extractors and driers.
- Set proper drying and cooling times for different linen types.
- Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, to locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment.
- Conduct weekly inventories, or at other intervals as instructed by manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area.
- Monitor feeder information on the washers; verify that all drums are full.
- Other duties as assigned. (which may include some cleaning)
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Must be able to perform job functions with speed and accuracy.
- Must possess the ability to Prioritize and organize work and meet deadlines.
- Must have the ability to work cohesively with co-workers in a team environment.
- Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Endure various physical movements; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 175 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and exert well placed mobility for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, bend, stoop and twist to perform job duties.
- Adequately communicate with management and co-workers.
