Experienced Inventory Control Specialist

Wages at $18.00 per hour base plus a $1.00 position differential.

Job Purpose:

We are in search of full-time 1st shift warehouse operations for our Charlotte, North Carolina Distribution Center located at 11922 General Dr. In this role you will be working on inventory control projects. You must haver prior inventory control experience and be well organized and have good attention to detail to be sucessful.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Performing all daily activities necessary to maintain effective inventory management procedures
  • Planning and implementing a recoup program to ensure all damaged/defective product is accounted for and properly handled by either dumping, salvaging or returning to stock
  • Conducting search to locate products within the system, as necessary
  • Adjusting records when there are discrepancies between actual product and records
  • Performing weekly cycle counts and adjusts systems as necessary
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records to help facilities shortage detection
  • Product exception research
  • handle and recover damaged products
  • Dimension new products and enter into warehouse system
  • Assists receiving department with incoming shipments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • 18 years or older.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing.
  • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of related experience, training, and/or education.
  • MUST HAVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND BE ORGANIZED
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (limited heat or air conditioning).
  • Minimum of one-year distribution center experience is a plus in Inventory Control.
  • Able to demension products.
  • Able to operate an Order Picker and Reach Truck.
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write legibly and to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • English language fluency preferred.
  • Excellent math skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Excel or Word.
  • Ability to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
  • Complete understanding of safety and risk management

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to perform work that involves standing, walking, and bending for a minimum of eight hours.
  • Able to continuously lift or push to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
