Big River Intermodal is a Trucking company Seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with Freight experience.

Responsibilities:

• Communicating and negotiating rates with existing customers and brokers
• Directing activities related to dispatching, routing and tracking of our fleet across the 48 states
• Troubleshoot and direct resolutions with pickups and deliveries
• Employee discipline issues and write ups
• Coordinate as need with mechanic shop on maintenance of fleet
• Collaborating with staff to formulate and implement transportation related procedures
• Build relationships with customers and help to resolve customer issues

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Ability to adapt to an established system and team
• Ability to prioritize and manage work loads
• Ability to work in a high paced environment
• Ability to foster and build professional relationships with drivers, customers, brokers and other team members
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience in dispatching
• Complying with transportation related policies as well as DOT regulations
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
• Must be available to work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm in office

Preferred experience:

• Experience as a manager, dispatcher, freight broker or recruiter in the trucking industry strongly preferred
• Previous office environment experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $91,000.00 per year
