JOB SUMMARY 

The Driver is responsible for transporting equipment from the warehouse to businesses properties. This position loads and unloads equipment, uses a navigation system to map the route and deliver in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Loads and unloads shipments and can chain and strap down large and small heavy equipment (forklift) on truck.
• Communicates with customers onsite and arrives at destinations on schedule.
• Completes all necessary paperwork. 
• Logs all delivery stops and mileage up to date.
• Delivers and picks up equipment and racking. 
• Fills out log and vehicle inspection sheets.
• Drives a 26' trailer and conducts inspections on truck every 30 days.
• Keeps truck clean from the inside and the outside.
• Keeps in contact with Dispatcher at each stop and reports vehicle issues.
• Reports issues to Dispatcher, sales, or service as soon as possible.
• Takes pictures and emails them when necessary.
• Keeps track of vehicle maintenance and ensures that the vehicle is always fueled and ready to use. 
• Always interact with clients professionally.
• Operates forklift, pallet jack and other types of equipment.
• Drive defensively and follow all traffic laws to ensure safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal/ written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, time management, follow-through and multitask skills.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Proficiency using GPS devices.
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Knowledge of the industry is recommended but not required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Driver License and clean record
• At least 2 years of related experience and execution of similar duties 
• Experience driving 13 speed tractor trailers.
• Experience driving a 26' trailer.
• Previous Forklift experience is a plus.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a vehicle and driving to various destinations.
• Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
• Vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.

Hours M-F 7:00 am to 4:00pm
