Host/Hostess

We are looking for an outstanding Host/Hostess. If you are interested in working in a beautiful private country club with excellent service and people, then consider Big Canyon. Must be able to work part time including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Creating a lasting, positive impression upon members and guest when they first arrive to the restaurant
• Maintaining a confident and approachable appearance to create rapport with those dining
• Conducting oneself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of the Big Canyon Country Club

Expectations

• Welcoming our members by name and answering the phone in a friendly and courteous manner
• Booking reservations for all a la carte outlets and responding to all inquiries in a timely manner
• Providing members with sincere advice and obliging recommendations
• Assisting with 'to go' orders, accuracy, and billing
• Learning and promoting the club’s services, events, facilities, and amenities and be able to direct guests accordingly
• Monitoring the opening dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables while managing the flow of members
• Assisting managers and supervisors with administrative duties
• Maintaining a stocked, tidy, and clean work area at all times
• Assisting the service team with meal period resets and side work
• Abiding by all laws pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
• Responding to and providing aid if you are properly trained in medical or other emergencies
• Ability to multi-task in a faced paced, high-pressure environment

Compensation

Starting pay range for this position is $19 – 20/hour

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior club or hospitality experience preferred
• Previous fine dining experience preferred
• Previous customer service experience required
• Basic knowledge of service styles and etiquette such as appropriate table settings, the order of service, & wine service
• Must have be able to quickly learn and adapt to our POS System
• Available to work on all holidays and weekends
• Ability to perform physical job duties such as carrying plates, moving small furniture, & carrying a full server tray
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Have knowledge of the food menu, daily specials, and wine menu
• Maintaining a pleasant, polite manner as well as a neat and clean appearance
• Work cooperatively and professionally with other departments
• Possess a mature, professional demeanor to interact with staff and members
• Food Handler's card

Selection Process

• Step 1: Applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and/or desirables; those candidates will be referred to step 2 in the selection process.
  Step 2: Hiring managers will contact candidate to schedule an interview.
• Step 3: Those candidates who are offered employment will have their information sent for background check.
• Step 4: Upon successful completion of background check, candidates will be notified and begin the onboarding process.
