Big Bus Tours is Hiring a Tour Bus Driver Near Washington, DC

The main responsibilities are to drive customers in an open-top double-decker bus on designated routes in Washington D.C. while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and adhering to company schedule, routes and procedures.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Report on time to the depot as scheduled in required uniform
  • Perform a Pre-trip inspection of your assigned bus including checking fluids, fuel bus, ensure bus is clean and ready for passengers
  • Follow the given route as scheduled under the direction of the dispatcher
  • Stop at every bus stop on the route (regardless of whether passengers are present)
  • Always maintain the safety of the bus and passengers during the tour
  • Follow all state and Federal traffic and DOT laws rules/regulations
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately per company policy
  • Maintain a professional driving style, presentation, and demeanor whenever in uniform
  • Provide customer service to passengers
  • Must be flexible
  • To carry out any other task as reasonably requested

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Knowledge of greater Washington DC streets & highways
  • Knowledge of Big Bus Tours products and attractions
  • CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsement
  • DOT Medical certification and drug test
  • Vaccine COVID 19 federal mandated requirements (fully vaccinated)
  • At least two years CDL driving experience OR graduation from an accredited CDL driver training school. Must present Certificate of Completion

  • Ability to use or learn required sales technology and bus radio

Working Hours and Conditions

  • Must be available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Job requires employee to sit and drive for continuous periods of time without being able to leave the work area
  • Job requires lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling up to 20 lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 40 per week
