Part-time Site-Based Coordinator specializing in School Programs

Position Summary:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-time Site-Based Coordinator to oversee our school-based mentoring programs in York and Adams counties. The Site-Based Coordinator will play a key role in facilitating meaningful mentoring relationships between volunteers (Bigs) and youth (Littles) in school settings, ensuring that each match receives the support and guidance necessary for success.

Key Responsibilities:

Match Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to matches in the school-based program, including regular check-ins with mentors, mentees, and school staff to assess progress and address any concerns.

Volunteer Recruitment and Training: Recruit volunteers (Bigs) from the community to participate in the school-based mentoring program, conduct orientation sessions and trainings for new volunteers, and facilitate ongoing training opportunities for current mentors.

Match Enrollment and Screening: Coordinate the enrollment process for youth (Littles) in the program, including conducting interviews, completing necessary paperwork, and ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Program Implementation: Collaborate with school administrators and staff to implement the mentoring program within designated schools, including scheduling mentoring sessions, coordinating activities, and providing logistical support as needed.

Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of match activities, including match progress, attendance, and outcomes, using agency databases and tracking systems.

Communication and Outreach: Serve as the primary point of contact for schools, volunteers, and families participating in the program, communicating regularly to provide updates, resources, and support.

Evaluation and Reporting: Assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data related to match outcomes, participant satisfaction, and program impact, and preparing reports as needed.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, or a related field preferred.

· Previous experience working with youth and/or volunteer coordination preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

· Highly organized with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and professional attitude.

· Knowledge of the York and Adams counties community and school systems is a plus.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position with flexible hours, primarily during school hours and after-school programs. Some evening and weekend availability may be required for volunteer trainings and special events.
