Big Bear Remodeling is Hiring a Remodeling Project Coordinator Near Rocky, OH

Big Bear Remodeling is located in Rocky River, Ohio, and we are looking for a project coordinator to manage our portfolio of projects, which are mostly kitchens and bathrooms.

We run about a dozen projects at a time, so we need someone who is energetic, smart and good at multi-tasking. This position does require approximately 45-55 hours per week. 90% of this work will be in our office, and 10% will be in the field on site visits. You will spend 9 hours per day Monday through Friday (7:30am - 5pm), and you may spend a few hours or more per week ordering materials and returning emails during evenings and weekends, which can be done from a company provided laptop at home. Company specific training is provided, but remodeling and project management experience is necessary.

In addition to having construction knowledge, you must be able to thrive in a high-paced environment and have great organizational skills. This work will consist of project inception, pulling permits, scheduling and attending preconstruction meetings, ordering all ancillary and primary materials for all projects, scheduling inspections, occasionally meeting inspectors and conducting walkthrus, reviewing time sheets and P&Ls, and basically making sure the train arrives on time.

The most important qualities in an employee for this position are organization skills and thoroughness. We are looking for someone who is smart and overly well organized. You will manage a lot of items and deadlines and an extreme level of thoroughness is needed for you to excel in this role. An average level of organization won't cut it. You will need to lock in on details and have really good attention to detail. How you apply for this position will be your first test of how well you follow instructions and catch all the details.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years experience working in residential construction project management or 5 years experience ordering building materials (ideally for residential projects)
  • Basic understanding of residential building standards
  • Good understanding of building materials for kitchens and bathrooms
  • Basic literacy with Microsoft Office (OUTLOOK, EXCEL, WORD) and ability to easily learn new software programs
  • Ability to type without errors at minimum 35 words per minute without looking at the keys. You don't have to be a speed typer, but you can't be super slow either
  • "A" TYPE PERSONALITY (You will manage a lot of projects, each which requires managing an orchestra to make sure everything goes smoothly. You will need to be incredibly well organized, and that is an understatement.)

COMPENSATION:

  • $70,000 base salary plus bonuses (up to $2,500 per year) based on performance and profitability, with annual pay reviews and salary increases.
