    Biddeford Regional Center of Technology BRCOT is seeking an engaging, highly motivated and qualified Teaching and Early Childhood Teacher to provide opportunities for high school students to gain knowledge and practical experience in Teaching and in Early Childhood Education. Teaching is a high demand, highly rewarding field and be the one to inspire our youth to enter the education field.
    Qualifications:
    • Eligible for ME DOE Certification and CHRC
    • Experience in the early childhood field
    • High school teaching experience is helpful
    • Maine Roads to Quality credential preferred
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Ability to coordinate and oversee the operation of a part-time daycare with 3-4 year old students
    • Ability to develop and coordinate field experiences for studnets in the local schools and area daycares and preschool setting
    • Ability to effectively teach all aspects of the Teaching and Early Childhood curriculum using best practices
    • Working knowledge of instructional theory, basic education principles, practices and methodologies, the developmental process, competency-based curricula, and general classroom and lab practices.
    • Possesses good organizational skills; knowledge of record keeping procedures, including the ability to collect and organize data and information.
    • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate level of authority as well as creating an atmosphere of support and confidence for students.
    • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, parents and students and the general public
    • Ability to create and maintain a robust Program Advisory Committee
    • Ability to work with youth (16-18 years old) effectively.
    • Ability to work independently and to manage work assignments in a highly interpersonal contact environment.
    • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior required to provide an orderly and productive classroom environment.
    • Communicates with parents and school stakeholders on student progress.
    • Abilility to use technology effectively for all asapects of the position
    • Knowledge of students’ growth, development, and learning
    • Skilled in assessment and using its data for teaching and learning
    • Ability to meet the needs of all learners
    • Ability to motivate students
    • Ability to maintain and teach dual enrollment college credit requirements
