The Live & Virtual Learning (LVL) team at BI WORLDWIDE is driven by innovation and design to produce world-class immersive corporate learning experiences. We're seeking an experienced Senior Art Director to support our learning creative leadership team, known for exceptional creativity.
The ideal Senior Art Director will bring a mix of artistic, marketing, and business expertise to the position with an eye for the latest trends in creative expression, i.e., storytelling, sensory interaction, and AI application. We're looking for an experienced creative manager who can inspire and be inspired by others to take our immersive learning experiences beyond what we've previously achieved.
We work a hybrid model (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home); this position is located in our Minneapolis Metro headquarters.

Role Objective:

  • Champion LVL creative group standards for creative briefing, visual styling, technology deployment, productivity, quality, and client relationship management
  • Collaborate with LVL creative director, strategic, instructional design content, and project management teams to create and deliver immersive learning experiences that exceed expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for LVL creative group improvement, propose and create new processes and tools to support design operations.
  • Assist in developing LVL creative presentation approaches, styles, and techniques for both internal teams and clients.
  • Analyze and recommend emerging visual communication and technology trends, i.e., storytelling, sensory interaction, and AI application, ensuring LVL creative group leadership in the learning market.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, design, produce, and deliver world-class live and virtual immersive corporate learning experiences, working together with instructional design training content providers.
  • Assist in developing creative briefs based on initial project kick-off and brainstorming sessions with internal and client teams.
  • Partner with project management and cross-production teams to develop project timelines that ensure timely delivery of initial concepts through final release files.
  • Conceptualize and design live and virtual learning experiences, including web/app creation, workshop and gaming activity, training playbooks, announcement and explainer animation, video production, event theming and immersive activities, digital and print support material, and more.
  • Oversee production of final learning materials and coordinate with LVL teammates and cross-production resources, including web/app development, design, illustration, photography, motion design, animation, and video production, ensuring quality and specified timeline delivery.
  • Participate in new business pre-sale efforts and assist with creative development and design execution of presentation materials.
  • Provide LVL management with a real-time (updated daily) personal status document as to current and ongoing assigned project activities, anticipated deliverables, and deadlines.

Required Experience & Education:

  • 6 years of professional experience in graphic design, three or more years in a creative/art management role.
  • Strong creative vision with attention to strategic/communication/business objectives.
  • Highly skilled in leading creative support resources from initial concept through final execution.
  • Hands-on proficiency with design software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects) and Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Exceptional ability in typography, layout, and prototyping.
  • Solid knowledge of web development, motion design, animation, photography, and video production.
  • Effective presentation of concepts and designs, both internal and external, with clients.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in fine art, graphic design, visual communication; highly preferred.
