Summary/Objective
The Central Plant Mechanic is responsible for a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, plumbing, electrical and heating/air conditioning tasks to include installing and repairing equipment.
Essential Job Duties

Assists in installing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on various equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, maintenance schedules, and manufacturer specifications.
Assists in testing of generators and emergency equipment with
Repairs, operates, and maintains hot water heating water systems and boilers, chilled water systems and chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fans, water pumps, and any other equipment related to the central plant.
Follows necessary and pertinent safety precautions during the performance of job duties to prevent injury to self, patients, and/or others and to prevent damages to hospital equipment/property. Has experienced no avoidable accidents and has not contributed to any in the past 12 months.
Utilizes power and hand tools safely and proficiently in the performance of position responsibilities with the ability to train and supervise others in the use of this equipment.
Utilizes appropriate precautions related to infection control in relation to maintenance of equipment, supplies, the environment, and personal hygiene activities.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of related experience.
