Environmental Health Specialist/ Sanitarian – Three Rivers
Sanitarians work under the supervision of the Environmental Health Supervisor and perform the on-site inspections at commercial, residential, or public locations in the district to determine conformity with federal, state and county sanitation and environmental health laws to safeguard the public health. They also provide consultation to the general public on environmental health and sanitation issues. Sanitarians are required to maintain records of activities and prepare related reports. The successful applicant will be performing on-site inspections of restaurants, private wells, septic systems, campgrounds, public swimming pools and investigating nuisance complaints and must provide their own reliable transportation.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental health or related field is required.
Experience & Required Skills:
Special Requirement: Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and reliable transportation, as work-related travel is required.
Salary and Fringe Benefits:
This is a full-time position located in the Three Rivers office; 37.5 hours per week with a starting wage of $24.51 per hour, $27.70 if REHS.
