Job Description: $10,000 sign on bonus Weekly Hours: 36 Status: Full Time Shift: Nights 5Park Neuro Spine: 5 Park features all-private rooms with monitoring capabilities. The unit offers specialized nursing assessment and care to patients with both neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. Typical patients include those with a diagnosis of stroke, post-op craniotomy, post-op discectomy and other back surgeries and injuries, as well as post-cerebral embolization. Unit nursing care is complemented by the expertise of the Neuroscience Nurse Clinician, who is the Stroke Coordinator as well as assists in linking the Neuro Unit with the Rehabilitation Unit while fostering a strong focus on the patient's continuum of care. Neuroscience and Medical-Surgical experience is preferred but New Graduate nurses are welcome. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this position. Develops plan of care utilizing appropriate evidence based standards of care. 3. Evaluates patient response to treatment. 5. Applies critical thinking, clinical reasoning, organizational and leadership skills. Job Summary: Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient’s care consistent with the Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and the delivery of quality patient care and initiates change through active involvement in the unit-based and hospital shared governance councils while contributing to a healthy professional practice environment. National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for nurses as they utilize critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and exercise appropriate nursing judgment. The registered nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to enhance patient outcomes. The registered nurse serves as a role model through actively participating in the process of continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
