Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a Pharmacy Technician Automation Specialist to join our brand-new Central Pharmacy Service Center in the Louisville, KY area. The Pharmacy Technician Automation Specialist provides a supportive role in pharmacy informatics such as the use and integration of data, information, knowledge, technology, and automation in the medication-use process for the purpose of improving health outcomes. This role includes automation and technology systems management, management of projects, and training and education. Works as a pharmacy liaison with other technology departments within BH. Assists with automation and technology systems management including placement, configuration, testing, monitoring, maintaining, quality assurance, implementation, and troubleshooting automation and technology systems. Provides subject-matter expertise for new technology assessment and usability. Supports maintenance of medication libraries used by various informatics platforms under the supervision of a pharmacist. Supports and manages inventory and assists in optimizing as necessary. Ensures barcode scanning for medications is accurate and matches across all pharmacy systems. Coordinates maintenance and service calls for the automation equipment. Performs workflow assessments and optimizations. Assists with controlled substance surveillance and other audits. Maintains quality assurance reports. Serves as a subject matter expert in creating competencies and training staff on topics related to pharmacy automation on an ongoing basis. Minimum & Preferred Requirements Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician. Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire. At least 2 years hospital pharmacy experience (or similar experience) required. Pharmacy automation experience preferred. Proficiency with Omnicell/Parata, EPIC, and other pharmacy related technologies preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other pharmacy related applications preferred.
