BHS Baptist Healthcare System is Hiring a Pharmacy Tech Near Richmond, KY

Job Description: Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description: Healthcare professionals who assist and support pharmacists in providing the best possible care for patients through safe, efficacious and cost-effective distribution of health services and resources. Restocks automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) during regularly printed restock lists as well as warranted by the R.Ph. Prepares doses for dispensing to patient, under supervision of R.Ph. Regularly mixes I.V. additive solutions, including parenteral nutrition bags, using aseptic technique. Replaces and charges for floor stock used, including Departmental stock. Places orders for IV fluids, additives and supplies and restocks IV room as necessary. Puts away medications returned to pharmacy, including IV supplies. Works with the pharmacy buyer to check in wholesaler's order versus invoice. Maintains want book. Orders and restocks shelves as required; Obtains/procures drugs direct from companies or alternate vendors; Places Wholesale orders. Facilitates reconciliation of Omnicell discrepancies with RN if appropriate. Replaces drugs to Crash cart or Red Emergency boxes, under supervision of Pharmacist. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Previous pharmacy experience preferred knowledge of aseptic techniques, metric, apothecary weight and measurement conversions, normal drug dosages, routes of administration and dosing schedules. Will agree to take the Certified Pharmacy Technician exam within six months of employment to increase knowledge of pharmacy profession and better assist the supervising pharmacist and co-workers.
