Job Description: Full time, first shift M-F 8:00am-4:30pm No Call required. Job Description: The RN (Palliative Care) will work with the Palliative Care team to support clinical staff and physicians in the management of the continuum of care for palliative care patients. This includes assisting with patient evaluation, level of care determination, patient management and goals of care conversations. The RN will assist with the education of staff and physicians. Assists patients and the public with executing advance directives. The Palliative Care Nurse is a standing member of the Palliative Care Committee. Requirements: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing required. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing required within three years of hire. Current KY license required. Minimum of two years clinical experience in an acute care setting required, preferably in area of practice. Leadership qualities including time management, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, problem solving, decision making, priority setting, work delegation, and work organization required. Critical thinking skills, the ability to work autonomously with little direction and be directly accountable for practice required. Knowledge of therapeutic services applicable to any given diseases or conditions for the adult and geriatric age groups required. BLS preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire. Demonstrates knowledge about home care, hospice, palliative care, advance directives, pain management, symptom control, and discharge planning. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in palliative or hospice care preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
