As a Warehouse Associate at Peltz Shoes Distribution Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse. This position involves various tasks, including shipping, packing, and returns processing, to meet customer demands and maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shipping:
   
   • Prepare and pack customer orders for shipment according to company standards and shipping guidelines.
   • Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and tracking of outgoing shipments.
   • Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
2. Packing:
   
   • Inspect products for quality and accuracy before packing them for shipment.
   • Select appropriate packaging materials and methods to protect products during transit.
   • Maintain a clean and organized packing area to facilitate efficient workflow.
3. Returns Processing:
   
   • Receive returned merchandise and inspect it for damage or defects.
   • Determine the appropriate disposition of returned items, whether restocking, refurbishing, or disposal.
   • Document return reasons and processing actions accurately for inventory management purposes.
4. Inventory Management:
   
   • Assist in receiving and storing incoming merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory counts and placement.
   • Conduct periodic inventory checks and assist in cycle counting activities as directed.
   • Notify supervisors of any discrepancies or issues with inventory levels or product quality.
5. General Warehouse Duties:
   
   • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
   • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
   • Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment and operations a plus.
