The Role

The Web & Mobile QA Tester Co-op will be a part of Cambio Earth Systems' software development team working alongside engineers and geoscientists to develop safety critical software applications. Apply your software development knowledge to help test applications that warn our clients about potential geological hazards and risks. As a QA, you will have opportunities to lead our software releases to production. This opportunity is located in Vancouver, BC and is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to test safety critical web applications
• Test mobile applications; our mobile applications are scaled down versions of our web app that will be used offline on a mobile device
• Work on features from beginning to end
• Work on enterprise class web mapping applications
• Help refine User Stories by gathering requirements from stakeholders
• Ensuring features are implemented by performing functional, regression and integration tests manually
• Take part in releasing the software into production
• Work closely with other members of the development team to analyze and reproduce issues while adhering to software quality best practices
• Work alongside team members in a collaborative Scrum/Agile environment
• Research and apply new technologies to Cambio Earth Systems' applications

Required Education, Experience & Competencies

• Computer Science or Engineering student in 3rd or 4th year
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Detail oriented, ability to work independently and is self-motivated
• Ability and the desire to learn QA tools and QA functions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The base annual equivalent salary for this position will be commensurate with the number of work terms completed as follows: $47,000/yr for 0-1 work terms, $52,000/yr for 2-3 work terms and $57,000/yr for students who have completed 4 or more work terms. Salary is pro-rated for the term of employment.
