A. Primary Purpose of Job:

The Store Manager is responsible for the entire store operations, in conjunction with the Store Management, including program execution and product implementation along with maximizing store efficiencies, inventory control, foodservices, ordering, receiving and rotation of products, quality of raw and finished products, sanitation and preparation schedules, inspections and follow-up in the assigned store.

The job requires an understanding of all store operations, which include the ability to serve as the Senior Management Person. This includes the willingness to accept responsibility for the store and to take actions in the best interest of the store, it's employees and meet operational guidelines established by BFS Foods.

B. Duties and responsibilities for this position:

Customer Service

  • Provides top quality, fast, efficient and friendly service.
  • Demonstrates excellence in customer service.
  • Ensures GUEST program compliance with every customer.
  • Understands the needs of customers and tailors service to customer needs.
  • Handles customer complaints and ensures complete satisfaction at store level.
  • Adheres to dress code; maintain uniform and nametag; ensures employees do the same.

Human Resource Management Duties

  • Recruit, train, develop and evaluate employees of the store to properly execute programs and foodservice safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective behaviors.
  • Coaches store employees.
  • Create a positive store culture by treating employees fair and with respect.
  • Ensure consistent quality of foodservice with proper training and communication to employees.
  • Tactfully counsels/disciplines employees in violation of Company policy, in accordance with BFS disciplinary guidelines.
  • Perform performance appraisals for all store personnel.
  • Schedule and conduct all store meetings.
  • Invest in personal development of staff and yourself.
  • Report violations of attendance policy to Human Resources.
  • Ensure proper handling of all accident/injury forms.

Scheduling

  • Accepts responsibility for store performance; for covering all shifts at all times.
  • Responsible for development of store schedules to assure proper labor is allocated to the foodservice operation to meet maximum efficiencies and company labor hour guidelines.
  • Responsible for scheduling cleaning tasks to meet local, state and company sanitation standards.
  • Responsible for creating preparation schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Supervise and delegates work fairly and objectively; ensures a smooth workflow; meet deadlines.

Ordering/Receiving Products

  • Responsible for product ordering, including entering build-to's in the order book, scanning and transmitting order when assigned.
  • Responsible for adjustments to minimum and maximum levels in the POS system for all foodservice products as they relate to the creation of automatic ordering, where applicable.
  • Responsible for assuring orders are ready for placement at telemarketer designated time.
  • Responsible for insuring all products are received according to Company policies for temperatures and quality.
  • Responsible for alerting Management of any food product problems.

Merchandising

  • Attain objectives for all categories, using information pertaining to sales, waste and profitability.
  • Check and maintain signage.
  • Ensure promotion awareness through proper signage and merchandising.
  • Check and maintain foodservice area appearance.
  • Follow foodservice sanitation standards; including Restrooms.
  • Maintain proper promotional pricing.
  • Ensure all regular pricing is current & up to date.

Inventory/Cost Control

  • Follow guidelines for inventory control in accordance with the BFS Operations Manual.
  • Check and adjust foodservice ordering build-to's, spoilage sheets, ordering, etc.
  • Perform weekly and month end inventories on all cost accounting items, where applicable.
  • Responsible for preparation of Foodservice products for physical inventories.
  • Responsible for watching security systems videos periodically.
  • Perform periodic cash audits to ensure proper cash levels.

Product Promotions and Roll-outs

  • Stay current with all communications, E-mail, Store Alerts and communicate to employees all pertinent information.
  • Responsible for execution of all corporate promotions, product roll-outs, process changes and training of each.
  • Follow guidelines for inventory control in accordance with the BFS Operations Manual.

Sanitation

  • Maintain acceptable health and sanitation results from local and state inspections.
  • Compile, update and follow up on foodservice area duty and housekeeping lists according to standards set in Operations Manual.
  • Ensure all employees are following wash hand/glove policies.
  • Responsible for store level procedures to check and document all dates and temperatures on 'each shift.
  • Complete daily inspections of all foodservice products and areas to assure Company procedures, recipes, and specifications are being met for foodservice.
  • Ensure proper garbage disposal/recycling requirements met for foodservice.

Accounting

  • Prepares invoices for posting.
  • Checks shift audit sheets.
  • Verifies cash drops, charges, credit cards and voids.
  • Prepares daily bank deposits and deposits funds in local bank.
  • Enters all proper information in the back room PC and transmits to home office.
  • Organizes and sends all required information to home office and files store copies.
  • Review monthly margin analysis sent from home office.
  • Review weekly period profit analysis sent from home office.
  • Review the Western Union and Lottery statements monthly.
  • Review and submit daily and weekly sales analysis from branded fast food to home office. '
  • Ensure that all payroll information is submitted timely and accurately.

C. Position of Organization

Reports To: District Supervisor

Directly supervises: All store staff

D. Relationships

Inside the Store: All levels of management team, store employees, customers and vendors.

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to prepare food quickly and accurately according to Company Standard.
  • Be able to provide fast and friendly service to each customer.
  • Cooperate with and interact in a productive way with fellow employees.
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Be able to manage multiple employees.
  • Be able to direct team work on and between shifts.
  • Be able to work to improve store environment.
  • Have the ability to learn and work on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for periods up to 8 hours.
  • Be able to enter and work in freezer temperature of 0 degrees, up to 10 minutes at a time.
  • Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 36-40 degrees up to 45 minutes at a time.
  • Be able to work more than nine hours at a time.
  • Be able to read, understand, write and communicate in the English language.
  • Be able to perform mathematical calculations to be able to make change, complete shift checkouts and account for a variety of products during vendor check-in.
  • Be able to check identification and pricing of merchandise.
  • Be able to stock shelves and coolers.
  • Be able to retrieve merchandise for customers.
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning products and sanitizing solutions.
  • Be able to change gas price signs.
  • Be able to lift, carry and push up to 50 pound carry milk cartons, bag-in-the-box soft drink containers, etc., several times per shift.
  • Be able to operate electronic cash register and other equipment.
  • Be able to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, remove and transport trash containers placing them in outside bin.
  • Be able to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the store.

Work Hours

The Manager position is a full time salary position based on a 50 hour regular workweek. As a Manager, it may be necessary to for you to work above scheduled hours. Management reserves the right to revise the job description and to require that other tasks to be performed when the circumstance of the job changes (for example: emergencies, changes in personnel, workload or technical development).
