Job Summary

To transport clients and staff to appointed destinations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES includes the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Transfer clients to work, doctor appointments, hospital and activities in a timely manner.
  2. Assist Direct Care staff with loading and unloading clients.
  3. Maintain upkeep for vehicles: Oil Changes, Fluid Levels, Brakes – check on regular basis, Tires – check on regular basis
  4. Pick up and deliver clients adaptive equipment. (i.e. wheelchairs from repair shop)
  5. Clean and sanitize vehicles on a regular basis.
  6. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have and maintain current driver’s license. Good driving habits and record required. Knowledge of the Metro East area. Certified in CPR and Red Cross First Aid or must obtain certification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, and reach. Employee will occasionally use mechanical lift, climb stairs and ramps. The employee will frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to or over 75 pounds. From time to time, employee may be required to work long hours and mandatory overtime. The employee is frequently required to use both hands, push/pull, use sharp objects, talk and often working in different temperature settings. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On occasion, noise level may be very loud. On occasion the work environment may be cold and hot.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear when communicating with employees and using a phone line.
