Overview

The Operations Lead will set strategy and oversee execution for the team of professional and technical staff in the Cleveland, OH profit center.

Responsibilities include:

    Achieve and maintain sustainable and profitable growth for CEC's Cleveland office;
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish and execute the annual operating plan objectives;
  • Manage recruiting, onboarding, and performance of talent. Cultivate a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and fostering employee engagement. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team while fostering safe working practices, and ongoing professional development;
  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations. Ensure consistent quality deliverables. Analyze operational metrics and financial reports to identify and pursue areas for improvement. Make investment decisions to meet the needs of the business while optimizing financial performance and building healthy culture;
  • Lead and drive client development efforts, staying current with local business and economic drivers/conditions;
  • Coach practice leads and senior staff relating to sound project management, resource allocation, and proactive risk assessment/management to ensure business success;
  • Motivate and engage the team, set direction, and champion client-focused service;
  • Champion and model the organization's core values of safety, integrity, collaboration, personal and professional development, and service excellence;
  • Oversee and capitalize on opportunities for cross-office and cross-practice collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading teams and/or technical practices to deliver successful projects (preferred 10 years);
  • Ability to conceive strategy, develop initiatives and tactics, and mobilize people and resources to execute;
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across various stakeholders (e.g., leveraging market groups, corporate practice groups, corporate functional groups, and other resources outside of direct operational authority);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in providing consulting services in the Cleveland and Ohio markets. Familiarity with regulatory nuances impacting both business operations and client objectives in these markets;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Business acumen and the ability to analyze project or accounting reports and interpret key performance indicators;
  • Ability to provide feedback, coach, and teach others;
  • Negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills;
  • Resilience and persistence;
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering, geology, land surveying, environmental, ecological sciences, or related field;
  • Ability to travel for client or internal meetings.
