POSITION/TITLE: Registered Nurse/OR Nurse/Circulating Nurse

REPORTS TO: Administrator and Physician(s)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse will assess patient health problems and needs, develop, and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.Expectations include collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, and effectively interacting with patients and their significant others. This position also entails perioperative care of the patient, maintaining accurate medical recurs, and assisting the surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks.

Job Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program• Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board• Minimum of one (1) year OR experience

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting, or transferring patients may involve lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.• Ability to stand for extended periods.• Fine motor skills.• Normal visual acuity, with or without corrective devices.

Position Responsibilities

• This position entails responsibilities for general nursing care in the office, OR nurse, and circulating nurse.• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations and treatments.• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.• Prepare, administer, and document medication (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV), and monitor patients for potential reactions.• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.• Assess and evaluate patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.• Conduct pre- and post-operative patient education.• Serve as the communication liaison to family and members of the patient.• Assists in patient positioning, responding to comfort/safety of patient.• Prepare operating room for patient/procedure.• Participate in surgical time out to ensure that the correct procedure and laterality is being performed on the correct patient.• Observe and enforce strict standards of sterility during surgery.• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.• Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.• Provide accurate care and handling of surgical specimens.• Observe, check, and monitor all equipment used during surgery to confirm they are running smoothly.• Help with inventory assessment before and after surgery.• Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

Other Responsibilities

• Complete required orientation as directed by facility.• Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment.• Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol.• Respect cultural and religious practices of patients and coworkers.• Uphold HIPAA regulations.• Demonstrate punctuality and dependability for reporting to assigned/confirmed shifts.

Must be a US Citizen.

Must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen Test.

Must be flexible as this position will be on an on-call basis, with one weeks’ notice.

Must have entrepreneurial attitude.

Must have clean cut appearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47.50 per hour
